UAHexcopter

The goal of this research was to design, build, and test a heavy lift hexcopter that could be used as an extended duration platform for research in controls and sensor systems.  The baseline control system used was an open source ArduPilot Mega flight computer, which facilitates modification of the flight control software by student researchers.  To ensure safe operation, a key aspect of this research was the detailed analysis of the open source control software using industry-standard static and dynamic analysis tools available in the laboratory.
